City Hall



There seems to be an insatiable appetite to take over old, huge, public buildings and turn them into hotels, like city hall. The plaza in front is a surprising open space, given the pressure for land around here.

I'm off again, cycling in the mountains this time - back in a little.

Sorry to be a nit-picking pedant but that is actually London County Hall, once the home of the Greater London Council (GLC). There had been various other plans on how to use the building, including one of the LSE taking it over, but they all came to nothing. City Hall (an obvious imitation of NYC) is further down the river. It is, in fact, the great glass egg opposite the Tower of London, where the Mayor of London and the London Assembly reside now
