Oxford Street - the shabby end

This is why Hanway Street survives as it is - it is attached to the shabby end of Oxford Street. You know, that bit of it that makes every Londoner feel ashamed. Nobody notices Hanway Street in all that.

Off on hols at the mo, back in a while, pictures should continue daily if the technology works.

I always enjoyed the "shabby end," with Forbidden Planet, the hobby shop, and a bunch of wine merchants. And the absence of any mobile phone shops. The walk from Holborn to Centre Point was always more interesting than from Marble Arch.

Nice shot, our towns all have a shabby side, Happy New Year!

For some it's shabby, for others it has character!

@Imajoebob - THAT part of the road was New Oxford Street and interesting. THIS part of the road is Oxford Street, and shabby.
