What's the time, Mr Ben?

Shot with Olympus E500
Time to confuse the tourists! (Did you used to play "What's the time, Mr Wolf" as a child?)

Big Ben has fallen silent, the clock is stopped for a month for maintenance. It would have been good to get a picture of the abseillers, but it wasn't to be. Call me an old cynic if you like, but I don't suppose the Houses of Parliament are going to be totally bong-less for the duration.

I say! Call the cops! This is illegal. There is an ancient law which says any public clock not in use must have its hands both pointing to twelve so whilst the face on the right is correct, eek! the one on the left is about to be carted off to prison!

I suppose it may seem odd to you, but the story about Big Ben made our evening news the other day and it showed men on the clock face washing or cleaning the white areas.
