Holocaust Memorial Day

Yesterday was Holocaust Memorial Day. Unfortunately I don't have anything to represent that from in London, so the group of thoughtful soldiers outside Euston Station will have todo to make us stop and think for a minute.

I was glad to be lectured about Holocaust Memorial Day by our eldest on Friday night... one of her teachers had a grandfather who survuved Auchswitz. He died last year and had, until then, always come in with her to talk to the kids about some of his memories. Our eldest had studied the Holocaust previously at school but having a live link had obviously made it seem closer and a lot more pertinent.

Moving, Ham. Done my thinking. Sad but necessary.

I'm trying to think of what the relevance of that tragedy is today--have we really learned anything since then?
